DGS Converts Print Magazines to Web Presence
October, 1999, Los Angeles. Medical Publisher CurAnt Publications brings Imaging Economics magazine to DGS for website design.
To bring to an internet site the high quality their readers demand, Medical World Communications enlsited the skills of Desktop Graphic Services to create new website designs for their first online conversion.
Publishers of over 20 trade magazines for the health and medical fields, Medical World’s production subsidiary, CurAnt Publications in Marina del Rey, California needed to build clean, organized web pages for
the professional but technologically inexperienced doctors and administrators who read Decisions in Imaging Economics.
After creating several designs for the IE home page, contents and interior pages, CurAnt Project Manager Tina Vazquez also commissioned DGS to produce a special coop-advertiser-driven sub-site called Radiology As A Business. This site holds upwards of 20 stories, which would change yearly.
Site sections were designed to be easily updated for the bimonthly production schedule, and through an affiliate programming firm, a database-driven back-end was created for archives of old stories. Navigation was designed to be simple to use, with visual markers showing viewers exactly where in the site they are at any given time.
Additional publications are scheduled to be put online in the coming months, enhancing the working relationship developed between the two companies.
