Introduction by Jerome Schneider

Even though a recent 1998 Harris Poll indicated a significant amount of Americans believe they’ve lost control over their personal financial data, most remain resigned to this extreme invasion of privacy. They figure no matter what they do, their income disclosures, tax return data, bank account numbers, employment history, and other confidential information will most likely end up in the hands of some information broker.

They’re wrong.

There are effective steps you can take to keep control over your personal financial data, as well as your money. In fact, the process of protecting your financial privacy is easier than you think. All you need to do is read this book to discover how you can keep your private financial information truly private, and how you can hang on to those assets that you’ve worked so hard to acquire.

First of all, you should know that unlike other books that deal with protecting your assets, this book isn’t only for the extremely wealthy. As much as I’d like to think they need my help, the fact is the truly wealthy have a head start on the rest of us when it comes to hiding their money and keeping their financial information private. After all, they’ve been doing it for years...that’s probably why they’re still wealthy.

However the secrets the super-rich utilize to become financially invisible can be adapted for the use of those with more modest assets. That’s why I wrote this book...It’s for those of you who probably don’t have years of experience in hiding your money from greedy relatives, free-loading friends and the ever-present I.R.S.

So while you may not be able to afford the best tax attorney in the country to advise you on how to keep your money safe from prying governmental eyes or to tell you how to safeguard your assets from frivolous lawsuits, you do have me. I’m a lot less expensive, which means that one of the best parts about taking my advice about how to hide your money is that when you’re done listening, you’ll still have some money left to hide.

If you are serious about hiding your money, assets and wealth, you need to be proactive. You can’t sit around waiting until someone files a lawsuit against you and then try to hide the bulk of your assets. You’ve got to have your strategy already in place -- just in case someone tries to get their hands on what you’ve worked so hard to acquire.

In my twenty-five years spent advising clients on how to protect their assets, I’ve read just about every book there is out there on this subject. I’ve researched a wide variety of innovative techniques for hiding assets, and I’ve interviewed those professionals who specialize in identifying money-hiding schemes, such as bank compliance officers and forensic accountants.

Now I’m ready to pass on what I’ve learned to you.

I’m going to teach you the best places to hide your money, assets and wealth without getting caught. And I’m going to teach you how to behave before, during and after you’ve hidden that money. In a few simple chapters, I’ve provided you with all the information you need to make sure that your assets will be there when you need them.

Want to hold on to your money? Then hold onto this book.
