All eMed systems employ an advanced wavelet-based compression, which was developed by the company in partnership with Aware, permitting the most effective use of network bandwidth, processor speed, and data-storage capacity. In addition, most eMed applications can run on common, off-the-shelf platforms and are compatible with Windows® operating systems. This allows existing equipment to be used to the greatest possible degree and increases the practicality of eMed’s image acquisition, review, storage, and distribution methods.
