Transferring existing domains is easy. Either we can do it for you, or you can do it yourself.

Have an existing domain name that you’ve already registered? You’ll need to transfer it to our servers for us to host it. Click here and we will arrange the transfer.

Or do it yourself:

  • Find out who your domain registrar is. An example would be Network Solutions. If you don’t know your registrar, click here to go to BetterWhois.com, where you can look up your domain information.

  • Go to that registrar and find the page for transferring host servers. This may be called Transferring your Domain Name to another ISP. You may need to log in. Don’t forget your login information, such as your user name or password!

  • You will be changing the host server. Enter the information below:
    Primary Server Hostname: NS1.SECURE.NET
    Primary Server Netaddress: 192.41.1.10
    Secondary Server Hostname: NS2.SECURE.NET
    Secondary Server Netaddress: 161.58.9.10

  • You should also change the technical contact information to reflect our authorization to transfer your domain. This may be in the same screen or you may go to another screen to change contact information.
Technical Contact NIC Handle: EO695. This may be all you need to do. If this option isn’t available, also add the following:
    Technical Contact: Eric Oxenberg
    Type of Contact: Individual
    Technical Contact Organization: Desktop Graphics
Technical Contact Address: PO Box 66456
Technical Contact City, State, Zip Code, Country: Los Angeles CA 90066 USA
    Technical Contact Telephone: 310-391-5275
    Technical Contact Email: admin@thedesktop.com

  • You’ll receive an email to confirm your change. Follow the directions explicitly, and you’ll receive a confirmation shortly thereafter. You will then need to have us set up your new server. Click here to request new service.

What are Parked Domains?

Parked domains are domain names which are reserved in your name for a set term (usually 1-2 years) but are not live on the internet for others to see. They are held by the Registrar which you used to acquire them until you choose a hosting company to serve your web pages. Parking your domain is typically free of charge for the period in which you hold your domain name.

What are Hosted Domains?

Your Domain is available for everyone on the internet to visit after you choose a host server to store your web pages. You normally pay a monthly fee to host your web site on a server. There is no fee associated with moving your parked domain from the Registrar to a hosting service, although the host service may charge a fee to configure their servers to show your domain on the web.
