Outside it may have been dark, but it was so hot everyone was sweatin’ at the American Music Awards last Fall in Los Angeles. The hall was packed tighter than church at Christmas, and for the hip hop crowd, maybe just as important. Sometime between appearances by Jay-Z and Anna Nicole Smith, a major rap celeb and his entourage cruised past us. Seemed wherever they went, a thick, pungent cloud followed, and it was skunky. We thought, “Wow, he’s wearin’ the chronic tonight!” Then we thought, “Say...what if you could wear chronic any time you wanted to...?” And then we decided we would!

Followin’ this mash-up between personal grooming habits and clouds of kush, we went out and found some real interesting chemists, who said they could reproduce the smell of the dankest bud and put it in a bottle. Bein’ suckers, we said, “Prove it!” So, damn if they didn’t go and do it. Using a secret blend of exotic chemicals and essenses (which we’d have to kill ya if ya found out about), Chronic was born.
