Desktop Graphics (DGS) is a multimedia graphic design and advertising studio serving the advertising and corporate communities in Los Angeles, California. We’ve also found a way to branch out in business: writing our own billing software and selling it to other companies.

Formed in 1988, DGS has for the last 16 years worked with major advertising agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Rubin Postaer & Associates, BBDO, Lintas: Campbell Ewald, JWT Specialized Communications and Team One Advertising; project work has been for clients such as Toyota, Honda, Acura, Microsoft, AAA, AutoCad, IBM, Fox Television, Microsoft, Outrigger Hotels Hawaii and Lexus Automobiles. For some project highlights, see our News section.

DGS principal Eric Jon Oxenberg attributes the company’s success to positioning: “We specialize in an area of production and design that many other artists claim expertise in but don’t really have...a fine knowledge of sophisticated graphics applications, coupled with extensive expertise in Windows® and Macintosh® hardware and operating systems.”

In 1997, Mr. Oxenberg assisted multimedia design firm Digital Evolution; projects included design and programming for the launch of Lexus’ corporate internet site and creation of a graphics-heavy web site for PBS.

DGS’ most recent web client (fall, 2003) was I Love Dogs Expo. The project was ilovedogsexpo.com, a fun and comprehensive online consumer brochure/vendor sales tool for the company’s high-end pet shows.

Database Programming

MacDesign Billing software coverIn 1993, DGS created and released an off-the-shelf database software product written for professionals in the graphic arts and advertising fields. Called MacDesign Billing, the software allows non-accounting people to estimate and invoice for art-related costs. MacDesign Billing is an easy-to-use program which is being used by design studios, ad agencies, magazine publishers, and even federal government in-house art departments. Click here for more information.

DGS also writes database applications for businesses, specializing in publishing, entertainment and communications. Recent custom database clients include TSA Design/AdOut, TicketMaster Publications (Live! Magazine), Hammer Filmworks and an Oscar-winning film actor, all in Los Angeles, California.

DGS is available for web and traditional graphic design and computer-generated art production, custom database creation and development, and Macintosh consulting. For more information please call (310) 391-5275, fax to (310) 391-9865 or e-mail (eric.oxenberg@thedesktop.com).
